Content notes

This section is a place to share all the great things that go into student interactive notebooks. Although each teacher will implement notebooks in a slightly different way, different strategies are more appropriate in different parts of a lesson:
  • IN activities are at the beginning of class; used to focus students, engage prior knowledge or review previous lessons
  • THROUGH activities are the teacher-directed part of the lesson
  • OUT activities are student application, analysis and reflection, usually given at the end a lesson

The user who initiated this section is an 8th grade science teacher, so most of the ideas will be appropriate for science. Social studies, language arts and math teachers: please add your own ideas.
To add a new strategy to an existing table, copy the code below and paste after an existing table (you may have to go into the Text Editor mode). Create a new page using the template contents2.
